The Workshop to rock your

Falling Walls Pitch on stage

Learn the hidden pitch structure and stage techniques used in competitions like Falling Walls Labs and Summit.

Online or in person

How do you convince the jury of your impactful breakthrough within 3 minutes, showing only two slides?

Scientists are asked to do something incredibly difficult:

Explain years of complex research, communicate its real-world impact, and emotionally engage an audience - all within 3 minutes and 2 slides on stage.

Most researchers were trained to be precise, nuanced, and evidence-driven. But a great pitch requires:

  • clear verbal communication
  • engaging body language on stage
  • visualization on just two slides

Remember: The jury will never choose a winner they don't understand.

This workshop helps scientists transform complex research into clear, memorable, and impressive pitches that audiences and the jury can follow, remember, and support.

Your workshop for the perfect Falling Walls Pitch

The workshop is divided into three blocks. Two hours each.

If more than 8 participants are present, the workshop can be split into two days.

1

Write a 3-minute pitch

Verbal Communication & Pitch Storytelling

Participants analyze successful pitches from the Falling Walls Summit to understand what makes breakthrough ideas memorable, persuasive, and easy to understand within just 3 minutes.

This workshop block focuses on:

  • building a clear pitch structure
  • translating complex research into accessible language
  • using rhetorical tools and strategic wording
  • crafting strong openings and memorable closing messages

At the end of this session, they have a written script for their 3-minute presentation.

2

Design 2 PowerPoint slides

Visual Communication

This workshop block explores how to reduce complexity visually and focus audience attention on the core message. Participants learn:

  • how to simplify scientific information visually
  • how to highlight breakthrough and impact
  • how to combine visuals and spoken narrative effectively

The goal is to prepare one problem slide and one solution slide.

3

Craft your pitch on stage

Body Language, Stage Presence & Feedback

A convincing pitch is also about presence, confidence, and connection with the audience.

Participants train:

  • voice, pacing, body language, and gestures
  • eye contact and expression
  • presenting prototypes on stage

Through live practice in a supportive environment, participants receive professional feedback from me and peer feedback from the group. This helps them refine both their message and their performance.

After the pitch workshop, the participants have

  •  a written 3-minute pitch
  • 2 PowerPoint slides: problem and solution
  • a presentation training for a strong pitch delivery

The workshop takes place in a relaxed atmosphere. Breaks can be scheduled according to the participants’ preferences. I’ll answer any individual questions and also give others a chance to speak so that different perspectives can be considered.

The tailored Workbook for writing and review

I’ll bring the printed workbooks with me. For the presentation block, the room must contain a laptop, projector, or monitor. So the participants can deliver their pitch, using their slides.

For the online workshop, participants will receive the workbook in advance as a PDF.

Here’s a look at the workbook participants will use during the workshop:

About the pitch trainer

I pitch dreams to life

Hi, I'm Katharina Boguslawski.

I’m a physicist, author, and pitch coach. I’ve developed and patented many innovative products and presented them to clients and sponsors.

In 2026, I gave a pitch training for the participants of the Falling Walls Lab in Rhineland-Palatinate and supported them mentally during the pitch event.

I live with my family in Trier, believe in finding inspiration in a cup of tea, and love dancing out of bed in the morning to a cheerful song.

Testimonials

Read what the organizers and the participants of the Falling Walls Lab in Rhineland-Palatinate 2026 say about their training.

Katharina Boguslawski prepared our participants for the Falling Walls Lab with a clear, motivating approach. She quickly understood complex topics, identified key strengths, and helped refine pitches for clarity, impact, and precision.

Her individualized feedback, strong sense of stage presence and language, and extra one-on-one coaching significantly strengthened participants’ presentations. They gained both in technical quality and confidence.

Working with her was consistently professional, reliable, and highly enriching - we would gladly collaborate with her again.
